Every wedding, engagement, portrait session have been unique. From quiet and intimate to loud Major League baseball stadiums. Yet, there are 6 key observations we have learned over the last 10 years. Some may be obvious but are just not implemented.

#1 - SCHEDULE A CONSULTATION WITH YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER

Aside from a wedding planner, we are the only vendor with you the entire day. Let us guide you and help you give yourself enough time for the photos you truly want. Answering your questions is part of our job, so put us to work.

#2 - EASY PEASY

Discussing the days events doesn’t only help you figure out your day, but allows us to be prepared for each event. Being prepared for us means that we have the correct camera settings for the lighting conditions, knowledge of your location so you don’t bump into each other before the ceremony, and anticipate the decisive moments throughout the day.

#3 - WAIT, HOW MUCH TIME DO I NEED FOR PHOTOS

  • Getting Ready - Avg: 1 hour we capture you getting ready, attire details, invites etc...
  • Couples photos - Avg: 1 hour
  • Wedding Party - Avg: 20 min
  • Family Formal Photos - This will depend on the size of your family- Avg: 30 min
  • Venue - Avg: 20 min

#4 - WHY YOU SHOULDN’T SKIP OUT ON AN ENGAGEMENT SESSION

Engagement sessions give you and your photographer a chance to become comfortable with each other and in front of the camera. As photographers it allows us to find or create light that suits you best. We can also gain insight into your photographic likes and dislikes, and to have a fun time to ease into a wedding day filled with photos.

#5 - INSTAGRAM WORTHY ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS

The best photos turn out when everyone is on the same page. When your location suits you and your attire, it gives the feeling of a very “complete” look to the photos. If not planned properly it may feel disjointed and out of place. All it takes is a conversation with us to understand goals and discuss how to execute them. Things to consider are colours, environment, attire, props, season, where you will use the photos, etc… You can see there’s plenty to think about, so let’s chat about it.

#6 - MAKE THE CALL

Take stock of your needs, what you have wanted all these years, because it’s kinda your day, not anyone else's. The best part is that weddings are customized and no two are the same. Your wedding is already different without even starting. So, just go with it.
